Outdated craze....or revival of a hot trend?

Box Braids are just like Micro Braids in terms of technique, but with Box Braids the hair used is Kanakalon, the parts are bigger, and the width of the braids are also bigger. What I personally love about this hairstyle is: Its low maintainence and its great for giving your hair a break from the straightners and chemicals. 

If your an 80's baby like me... You'll remember seeing the box plaits trends appear and disappear throughout the years on singing sensations such as; the group, Jade, reggae artist Patra and Janet Jackson rocking box plaits.

The trend then reappeared again early 2000 

With stars like  Moesha star, Brandy (before the days of weave) championing this hair trend 

So, fast forward to 2013 

I'm seeing loads of the hottest celebs reviving this hair trend, such as; Solange, Keri Hilson, Beyonce, Christina Milian, Angela Simmons and Rasheeda.

Box Braids are great for when your pregnant because they are so hassle free. Rasheeda from Love and Hip Hop opts to wear her braids, half up and down.
