Top 5 favourite things of the week!

<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">1. The gorgeous <b>Luptia Nyong'o</b> is the cover girl for Glamour magazine and this has made my week. The talented actress keeps on winning and continues to challenge the traditional westernised views of beauty. Luptia has been named the new face for <a href="http://www.glamour.com/about/lancome">Lancôme</a>; which happens to be the first time the French cosmetics company has used a black person to front their brand. She's scored the <a href="http://www.people.com/people/package/gallery/0,,20360857_20809145_30141652,00.html">cover</a> of People's Most Beautiful issue making her the second black woman (after Beyonce in 2012) to appear on the front cover of the magazine. One of the most amazing things about Luptia is, there are a generation of young black women all over the world, seeing her on front covers of magazines and winning awards for her achievements making them realise, how beautiful they are too. <a href="http://www.glamour.com/inspired/women-of-the-year/2014/lupita-nyongo">Read</a> her interview with Glamour magazine.</span><br />

Traditionally I'm not a risk taker and usually not comfortable with change, I was recently made redundant from a job I grew to hate. I was so worried about the redundancy and how I would be able survive without much savings. But little did I know that, the redundancy was a blessing in disguise. Not only did I get to spend quality time with my husband and son, I've now found a job I really enjoy. Had I not been made redundant,  I probably would never of taken the gamble and looked for a new job. So when I finally accepted the redundancy, I was so much happier for it. I genuinely feel my life has become all the better for experiencing and accepting change. So for all my readers, if change is coming your way, don't fear it, just embrace it.</span><br />

All you need to do is turn on the TV, or open a magazine and you see images of "perfect" looking celebs. EverydaysSocial media is jam packed with young people trying to emulate their favourite celebs.</span><br />

<span style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, sans-serif; line-height: 18.9871444702148px;">So, in a world where everyone is striving for this false image of perfection and having the ability to enhance almost any part of their body , the number of teenagers having plastic and cosmetic procedures is hardly surprising. But w</span><span style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, sans-serif; line-height: 18.9871444702148px;">hat concerns me is, as the demand for plastic surgery amongst young people (in this unregulated industry) grows. The real underlying issues for wanting surgery are not been addressed.</span><span style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, sans-serif; line-height: 18.9871444702148px;">  I recently watched <a href="http://www.uk.tlc.com/shows/jodie-marsh-on/">Jodie Marsh's documentary on Plastic Surgery </a>and it provided real insight into some the tragic circumstances driving people to feel inadequate, fuelling their desire to appear perfect by undergoing surgery. This show has definitely changed my attitude towards people having plastic surgery.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Speaking personally, I'm no different from most women who has the occasional moan about needing to loose weight and wanting the perfect figure. But ultimately, I've learnt to accept and love myself and not look for acceptance from anyone. I'm not here to judge anyone who chooses to undergo plastic surgery to enhance their physical appearance, but I urge anyone reading this post considering plastic surgery,  to realise "perfection" simply does not exist. </span><br />

So this shade is the complete opposite of what I would normally wear, and to be honest, I've needed a “<i>lipstick makeover</i>” for a while and this was definitely the shade to do that.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

My 2 days at NEC Beauty UK Show

I travelled by train to the NEC which was a lovely relaxing journey and arrived to the venue around 1pm. The  NEC was jam packed with students, entrepreneurs and hair and beauty brands and I spent 2 days roaming around the event discovering new hair and beauty products and loved every minute of it . </span><br />

The kit includes,one eyebrow shade, variety of stencils, several eyebrow brushes and a highlighter. The kit cost me £30.00 and the MUA said, if the kit is used consistently everyday it </span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">will last me 2 years! </span><br />

bunch for £20 can't be 100% virgin hair, it's as simple as that. Our hair lasts
2-3 years with the right care. We have clients on their fifth install, they dye
and colour it, curl and straighten it and the hair still looks fab.  If you do
the maths, good quality hair is worth it's money and on top of that, you will
look stunning and that's priceless, right?!  So our advice is always buy
