8 things you need to know about the Billionaire Beauty Boutique
Hello my urban beauties…
Each month I promised to focus on emerging talent across the fashion, music and beauty industry and I have to be honest… I haven’t stuck to my promise. However, this month I want to shine the spotlight on the Billionaire Beauty Boutique, who I discovered on Twitter a few months ago. What made this boutique stand out for me was the celebrity inspired trends that is sold on the site for affordable prices. Female entrepreneur, Tenika, set up Billionaire Beauty Boutique in 2007.

things she’s got planned and what inspired her to launch the boutique.
1. Hey Tenika, Thanks for agreeing to the interview. How are you?
Im doing very well thank you, just very busy organising a fashion/ music vlog with a @mafiella creating a Diva Team of musicians, stylist, make-up artists, jewellery designers and models.
2. Wow... your a busy woman. So, what inspired you to set up Billionaire Beauty Boutique?
I have always loved fashion and been inspired by urban hip hop, high street and designer fashion. I started an online boutique in 2007 selling the latest urban sunglasses by designers Coco & Breezy who were relatively new to the market & they went down
very well. I have always read magazines with the latest up coming designs and really pride myself on showing what is about to happen next in the fashion world whether from the streets or the runway

3. I’m a massive fans of both Rihanna and Kelly Rowland, out of the two, who do you think rocks the hottest trends?
I really love both artists because they stay true to who they are. Kelly Rowland has a softer more feminine look on a consistent basis, where as Rihanna changes up her style frequently due to her age and is versatile in her style. She is always creating new trends off the runway and high street for her fans, this is even shown in her collaboration with River Island and her new affordable collection is urban street camoflague & military style pieces which are very masculine/feminine in their design.

4. With London Fashion Week approaching, are there any particular fashion collections you are looking forward to seeing?
I love Versace and Dolce & Gabbana and look forward to seeing their designs on the catwalk. I know that fur & leather will be a big feature this year. I’m excited to see what transcends to the high street & also affordable pieces that we can showcase to our customers. I always keep up with this information via @fashionblag on twitter she is an incredible blogger, always at the forefront of the latest trends straight from the runway.
5. Do you think London Fashion Week 2013 needs to have more fashion models and fashion designers from diverse backgrounds?
Yes, I most certainly do as thats why I appreciate urban fashion more as I'm able to see a range of colors and sizes. The high street is also seeing that fashion is for everybody and now showcasing peoples individuality as opposed to one specific look. I do appreciate Naomi Campbell and other models highlighting this issue and being ambassadors of change.
6. What’s been the most popular item sold on your boutique this year?
The most popular items is our Accessories Collection as it gave a feel of old school 80’s Hip Hop / Pop fashion with the big gold chunky chains & big pendants. They worked well with everyday looks & nights out. We have now stocked more fashion items such as the latest celeb style dresses as seen Rhianna, Nicole Sherzinger, Keyshia Kaoir, Paris Hilton, Khloe Kardashian & the list is growing. We are excited about the new direction of the store and look forward to a new relaunch this winter and look out for us in 2014!!

7. For anyone thinking about setting up an online boutique after seeing this interview, what advice would you give?
I would say, just have passion for it first and foremost, as that will keep you going at all times. Research....and lots of late nights building and studying, but it all pays off in the end. Also, just consistency as a creative, you also have to have business skills to deal with your customers.
8. How can people get in contact with you?
