UK Music artists - Ones 2 Watch for 2014

Drum roll please....

For me, there is nothing better than hearing new musical talent, who are bringing something fresh and new to the music game. So, i've decided to do a blogpost on the music artists who are the #Ones2Watch for 2014. I admire the hustle of each of the artists mentioned and i'm genuinely looking forward to hearing more of their music.


Jacob Banks

OK, let me start with Mr Banks. The minute I first heard Jacob Banks music track,"Worthy", in February 2013 I instantly new this singer/songwriter was going to be a success. I was even more pleased to discover he has been on his grind and working with a number of UK heavyweights such as; Wretch 32 for the track "I'm doing ok" and Chase n Status for the track Alive. "

Facts about Jacob Banks: 

• He's from Birmingham, UK! 
• He was described by Radio 1xtra as one of the "Hot Ten for 2013" 
• He won the Birmingham Mobo Unsung awards in 2012.
• He was the first unsigned act to appear on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge.

ShezAr

Now, this soul diva right here, can sang..not sing!! After hearing her track "Forever" i instantly wrote a blogpost about the track because its off the HOOK! 

Facts about ShezAr:

• Toured with ‘Wretch 32′, the ‘Soul Acoustic Tour’
• She was part of the ‘Female DJ Takeover’ tour by DJ Melody Kane with Lady Lykez, Shystie, and the ‘We Live The Dream’ tour featuring Paigey Cakey and others.
• Her younger brother is hit maker, Labrinth
She ended 2012 being interviewed on Channel 4 Music-based breakfast show Freshly Squeezed 'Ones To Watch - 2013.

Krept and Konan

Their Instant banger "Too Young" was on constant repeat in my house. My fiancé first introduced me to the South London rap Duo last year and this catchy song has got to be, one of my favourite tracks of 2013.  Anyway, judging by the success of their latest mix tape, "Young Kings" and fans they have gained, 2014 is going to be a great year for these guys.

Facts about Krept and Konan:

• They began rapping together in 2009
• They released their latest mix tape, Young Kingz September 2013
• Their real names are; Casyo Johnson "Krept" and Karl Wilson "Konan" 
• The  2011 You Tube cover of Jay Z and Kanye West's Otis raised their profile.
• They also set up their own clothing line, Play Dirty.

Dora Martin 

I described them in a previous blogpost as "one of the hottest groups around right NOW". London singer/song writers Cherri Voncelle (Cherri V) and Jermaine Riley have joined forces to become Dora Martin and I discovered their beautiful song Skyline, whilst watching 106& Park and i can't stop listening to this track!!

Facts about Dora Martin:

• The duo's name is inspired by Dora the Explorer and Martin Luther King, 
• Both originally solo artists, have worked with a number of UK and international stars such as Neyo, Chip and Jessie J.
• They joined forces in 2012
• They are currently working on releasing their EP, "Coalition."
