5 things I learned about the Timbaland interview

The legendary music producer was interviewed recently on Power 105.1 earlier this month,Timbaland sat down with our favourite radio station to talk about his new and exciting project, Empire and he started out producing. I've always been a fan of Timbaland and i'm grateful for all the great memories his music has provided me over the years.

1. Missy Elliot was the first artist to rap and sing on one of Timbaland beats

Timbaland explained he started out producing because of Missy.

2. He is humble and likes to be around people who keep it real and tell him when he is out of line

After speaking about Missy Elliot, Jay Z and Justin Timberlake he went on to say "When I got out of line, they were the ones who helped me" he then went on to explain "Thats the beauty about being a great person, when you can tell me I'm been too cocky."

3. Be yourself

He explained "I have tried to follow and it didn't work" He then went on to say "Stop trying to follow and figure you out."

4. He is the Executive producer of the new Fox Hip Hop drama "Empire"

"Its the first time I've worked with Fox" he explained. "The first season is more of me being an Executive Producer" and "As we get more into the episodes you'll really see the music." When asked if he's in the show "He filmed too parts" but doesn't know where the parts will be aired. He also explained "My wife had a lot to do with the show." and he "the TV show resembles what he's trying to do for real."

5. Thinks we should get rid of the smartphones and go back to the good old flip phones

"I want people to follow the news I'm about to post, but not follow me" he then went on to say "Lets Talk", "Stop with iPhone 5, iPhone 6 " and "Lets go back to the flip phone."
